Nursery Admissions

Nursery Class
If you are interested in your child joining our Nursery, please do make an appointment by contacting our school office on 01235 848 333 to arrange a visit and/or complete the Nursery application form.
Children are able to join our nursery the term after they turn 3 for a funded session, or can self-fund once the child has turned 3 but is waiting for funding, depending on our numbers.
Our renovated nursery classroom is inviting and bright and is full of resources to allow your child to explore and learn whilst they make friends. Sessions are taught by our experienced Class Teachers and Nursery Nurse to ensure that your child gets off to the very best start. We offer a total of 52 part time places, split between morning and afternoon sessions.
The morning sessions run from 8.45 till 11.45 and the afternoon sessions from 12.15 until 15.15.
If your child is only eligible for 15 hours of funding, the morning sessions are for those children who are in the school year in which they turn 4 (the year before they start school full time in a reception class) and the afternoon sessions are for those children who have birthdays after September and have more than a year to go before they start school full time.
If your child is already 3, but is waiting for funding, you can self-fund 5 sessions of 3 hours, please contact the school office for an up-to-date cost. You would be required to pay for all 5 sessions per week and that space would be kept for your child, whether they attended or not. They would be offered sessions in the afternoon. However, if they are eligible for 30 hours of funding, it is possible that your child could attend both morning and afternoon sessions. Self-funding sessions can only be offered depending on the number of children who will be offered a funded place. Please note, there is an extra charge of £3 per day to cover staffing during the half-hour period between the morning and afternoon session. This must be paid for on the Arbor parent portal or App. If your child has a school meal this must be booked in advance on Arbor. When we are offering places, six weeks in advance of the start date, we will be able to confirm if a self-funded place is available. Payment for these sessions are payable in advance of the start of the term.
Important change to our Nursery hours that will come into effect from 13 April 2026.
Oxfordshire County Council (OCC) has advised that all settings offering funded early education, funded hours offered must be continuous. To comply with this requirement, our Nursery sessions will be adjusted as follows:
There will be no change to the hours for children accessing 15 funded hours.
Children attending 30 funded hours per week
From 13 April 2026, the new hours will be:
- Core Nursery day: 8:45 – 14:45
- Optional extended session: 14:45 – 15:15 (£3 per day)
Children who are collected at 14:45 will be brought to the school office and will be ready for collection at that time.
If you would like your child to stay until 15:15, this will be booked via Arbor under the Clubs section. We will let you know when the club is live, ready for you to book.
We understand that these changes may affect family routines, and we are committed to supporting you through this transition. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

30 hours Funded Childcare
Our Nursery Class offers extended hours to eligible parents under the '30 hours' scheme. The scheme is designed to help families where both parents work (even part time). To check your eligibility, follow the link below:
If your child is eligible they can attend both the morning and afternoon sessions, and they are also able to stay in school for the half-hour lunch break, at a charge of £3.00 per day.
Unfortunately, we are unable to split 30-hours funding between ourselves and another provider.
