At Sutton Courtenay CofE Primary our curriculum is ambitious, compassionate and inclusive: rooted in our church school values of Responsible, Respectful and Ready, it is coherently sequenced from Reception to Year 6 so every pupil builds secure foundations in systematic phonics, reading fluency and mathematical fluency while developing deep subject knowledge across the wider curriculum. We expect high-quality classroom teaching first, using precise, consistent assessment to check learning and adapt teaching, so gaps are closed quickly; where pupils need extra help—including those with SEND—they receive carefully planned adaptations and specialist support so they can achieve their best. Spiritual, moral and personal development is woven through learning and collective worship, and leaders continually monitor the impact of our work to ensure the curriculum remains challenging, equitable and prepares pupils for the next stage of their education and life.
