Science
Science at Sutton Courtenay CofE Primary nurtures children’s natural curiosity and sense of wonder about the world around them. Our science curriculum encourages pupils to explore, ask questions, and develop their investigative skills through engaging, hands‑on learning experiences that are carefully matched to their age and stage of development.
Pupils take part in practical activities and simple investigations that help them explore the natural and physical world. Through observing, experimenting, sorting, and recording, children build their understanding of key scientific ideas while developing essential skills such as questioning, predicting, and explaining what they notice.
Learning is structured and progressive, allowing pupils to build on what they already know as they move through the school. We aim to develop confident, enthusiastic young scientists who enjoy discovering how things work and are excited to learn more about the world they live in.
