Personal, Social, and Health Education / Relationship and Sexual Education
We use the Jigsaw PSHCE scheme to deliver a carefully sequenced and progressive PSHCE curriculum that supports pupils’ social, emotional, and mental wellbeing. Jigsaw enables us to teach PSHCE in a structured, inclusive, and child‑centred way, helping pupils to develop self‑awareness, resilience, empathy, and respect for others.
Relationships and Sex Education (RSE) is delivered sensitively and age‑appropriately as part of our PSHCE provision. Through open discussion and clear guidance, pupils learn about healthy relationships, respect, boundaries, and personal safety, always within a supportive and trusting environment. Our teaching reflects our school values and encourages pupils to make informed, responsible choices as they grow and develop.
PSHCE provides rich opportunities for personal development, with pupils learning about themselves, their emotions, their relationships, and their responsibilities as members of the school, local, and wider community. Themes such as mental health, diversity, British values, citizenship, and economic wellbeing are woven throughout the curriculum, ensuring that pupils are well-prepared for life beyond the classroom.
By placing PSHCE at the core of our curriculum, we create a safe and inclusive environment where every child feels valued, heard, and supported. We aim to empower our pupils to be thoughtful, considerate, and active citizens who are confident in who they are and the positive contribution they can make to the world around them.
“Be the change that you wish to see in the world.” — Mahatma Gandhi
